Pomodoro
This might come as a surprise to some people (and the fact that it comes as a surprise is a surprise to me in itself), but I've got a degree in Electronics & IT Engineering and was a full stack web developer for 5 years before moving to music full time.
As a student I was also very into self-help content and study methods, as I still am although in a way more relaxed way. I think the Pomodoro technique is sort of "Time Management 101" together with calendar blocking (maybe even more), so of course I'm familiar with it. And I've used it a lot! Lately I've started using it again for focusing on music research, studying theory and also just journaling, when I can't seem to focus despite really wanting to do it, mostly due to Chill With You (which I briefly mentioned in another post).
Imagine my smile when I looked through the latest posts Yasunori Mitsuda, one of my favourite composers ever, has done on Pomodoro technique on its blog. I could only read and keep on nodding my head. "Yeah, messages that get you out of the flow are the worst! But they're so hard to ignore, aren't they? And the urge to check..."
Even people whose work we admire as if it was made by gods are humans just like us, huh?
