Butterfly
With a knife sharp heart
I shave off these long and thin, meaningless days
Piles of things like the past and monotony
Throw them out as nonflammable waste
Like a letter without an address
With no place to go or stay, our
Force-fed dreams and hopes
Throw them all as nonflammable waste
In our world coated by a translucent and precarious film
5 meters worth of reality
Inadvertently lost
Lost sight of it somehow
A blurry light beyond the darkness
Phototaxis from loser to the just
Could a volatile guy like me change into a butterfly?
Breaking
Even the dissipating dull pain
Keep it with you if you can, leave it there
In our world coated by a translucent and precarious film
5 meters worth of reality
Don't lose it
Keep in touch with it
The insistent world that can't let go calls to us
What lies beyond with which I peek through desires made of glass?
A blurry light beyond the darkness
Phototaxis from loser to the just
Could a volatile guy like me turn into a butterfly?
Breaking1
It's been a bit of a rough day today, and time flew by pretty fast. I hate when it happens: my memories of the day are all blurry, and it feels like I've spent more time trying to hold on than actually living. Holding on is a good thing, though! It's practice put in. It's part of a slow, painful process that's supposed to bear fruit in the end, but the weather is all fucked up and the fruits that were usually ripe and delicious in August are nowhere to be seen yet.
I spent some time today making a mixtape, and came across a lot of songs with forgettable lyrics2; then I ended up listening to ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION's Butterfly and remembered how much I like it. I really need to get back to those unfinished lyrics I started writing last month.
