31 Days Later
Today marks the last day of "Let's write every day on this blog for a whole month"!
Some personal highlights of mine:
- Write A Letter To Your Loved Ones: on putting in effort to love actively, not just waiting for it;
- If It's Broken Don't Fix It: kusoge and wabi-sabi;
- You Are Not Dich: yet again philosophizing on the meaning of words and context, the bane of my existence;
- Your World Grows Bigger: probably my favourite of the month, actually;
- There's No Age Nor Time Limit On The Playground: because I love playing too much;
- Something You Can Fall Back On: mostly because I put in the effort to translate that quote by myself! But also because I genuinely think it's very good advice;
- How Long Do You Have To Be Proving Yourself?: thoughts that circulate often in my mind;
- All Right part2: on doing things out of order, sometimes;
- The Sea at Night: very romantic, in my opinion. I really liked Boku no Natsuyasumi 2...
That's more or less one third that's worthy of note in my opinion, which is quite a lot; especially compared to the idea I had of it as I wrote it, especially to the one I had in the past few days (which were, as reading these pages might hint at, especially hard). In a perfect world, writing something nice everyday is the cure to everything: unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world. I still think it was good to keep my brain active and try to write a couple of sentences that weren't just "I'm so sad"1, and some posts ended up making me think more about things as I kept on writing. Overall, it's a good exercise.
Will I do it again next month? Heavens no. I need a break, and I need to take my time writing longer, more polished posts, without the ghost of "huuuuuh you're so sad today you'll only be able to write about LONGING and MOURNING", thank you very much.
At the start of this experiment, I wished I could say, at the end of it, "I'm doing better". What's the status? I don't know, and I don't want to put a verdict on a blog post like that. What I can say is that I don't think I'm doing worse, so that's a win.
If you ended up liking a post or two, I'm glad! If you hate this stuff, why are you still here? Go explore somewhere else.
I know some posts came off like that, but I feel like even the saddest ones still had a purpose and the desire to push through. Straight up ignoring the bad stuff isn't getting better: it's denial.↩
