Nerve Pain
Being an idiot, I tend to lock in and disregard physical and mental distress if I'm busy with something. Actually, the recent discovery of being on the spectrum made me think "Oh. That's not a character trait, then?", but let's disregard that.
I picked my desk specifically because it can reach incredibly low. I'm a short person, and I've had my share of problems in finding a chair+desk combo that doesn't force my posture in something that resembles more a puzzle than a person1. I was very happy when I bought it, and inversely upset when I moved at my then girlfriend's place and had to use the desk she already had at home instead of the one I invested so much time to research.
Fast forward to last year: new country, new home, my old desk is back. Might as well take some time to set it up properly, no? Of course not. First time's the charm. Let's coexist with this stupid nerve pain that's clearly been caused by setting up the desk poorly.
Now, if I have to be honest, I'm not that stupid: I did change the desk height. Multiple times. It's just a two people job to do properly, and it took me a disgusting amount of time to just ask my wife to help me out.
But it's great now! Even my arm and shoulder are doing better. Which leads me to the point of this post: if you're a sedentary person and know you should exercise more, and if you're experiencing muscle and/or nerve pain, look up exercises to relieve it. I'm serious. This video saved me from days of pain. Identify what's hurting, how it's hurting, check if the exercise works with you, bam2. Don't just hope a hot shower will fix you.
It might help, though.
